We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Surveyor to perform GPS stakeout for paving operations. This role is responsible for accurately setting out stakes using GPS surveying equipment to guide paver machines and ensure roadway construction aligns with project plans and specifications. The ideal candidate will have experience with construction staking, strong knowledge of civil drawings, and proficiency with GPS and total station equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set out stakes for paving operations based on construction plans and digital design files
• Operate GPS and robotic total station systems for precise layout
• Verify horizontal and vertical alignment, grade, and slope as required for paving work
• Collaborate closely with paving crews, site supervisors, and project engineers to ensure accuracy and efficiency
• Interpret blueprints, grading plans, and CAD drawings to determine stake locations
• Maintain accurate field notes, records, and data files of survey points and stake locations
• Calibrate and maintain survey equipment to ensure optimal performance
• Assist in resolving on-site layout issues and discrepancies as needed
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards and company procedures

High school diploma or equivalency (GED) required; additional construction-related course work desirable.

• Minimum of 5 years of survey experience in a heavy civil construction environment.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Terramodel, Trimble Business Center and Trimble GPS experience a must
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications
