  • Responsibilities

    The IT Sr. System Analyst is a hands-on technical role responsible to provide direct daily support to users; architect, install, configure, and manage high performing, highly available technology; and work with key stakeholders to identify opportunities for process or system improvement.  They may also work on Various IT projects as needed.

    The Sr. System analyst will work as a peer to business area process owners on their technology projects, assist in the planning, scheduling and execution of the project as well as help to ensure the user community is properly trained to effectively use the technology.

    The Sr. System analyst I expected to not only be highly effective at understanding and implementing the technology they support but also maintain an equally strong understanding of the business processes and businesses objectives that the technology is intended to support.

    The Sr. IT System Analyst is responsible to:

    • Perform upgrades to maintain existing technology at current security and functionality release levels. Ensure proper change control processes are followed and all requirements have been met before beginning implementation or moving to subsequent phases.
    • Monitor and evaluate vendor technology release notes for possible solutions to outstanding re-occurring issues or unresolved business problem statements.
    • Monitor system performance, user issues and reported problems. Troubleshoot these and resolve in a way that improves system stability and/or eliminates reoccurring problems.
    • Provide direct user support and education on best practices related to support requests that are escalated or that come directly to you. Design, conduct, or lead hands on technical training as required.
    • Monitor support issues for opportunities to provide training to other support resources to improve proficiency and timeliness of issue resolution.
    • Implement and maintain proper information and system security as well as perform security audits to confirm policy and best practices are in place.
    • Research, recommend and implement changes to new and existing technology required to meet the current and future needs of the company
    • Partner with implementation teams as a resource for deep knowledge about Allan Myers related business process and systems and to ensure proper analysis is done before any system changes occur or new systems are implemented.
    • Lead the review and selection of new technology ensuring that business objectives and user requirements are met while also ensuring desired systems are compatible with the Allan Myers technology architecture and related system.
    • Lead the implementation of new technology including process mapping, scope definition, project planning, enterprise architecture, testing, training and deployment.
    • Utilize best practices and known procedures, develop scope, execution plans, test scripts, and risk management mitigation plans for all systems/technology updates or implementations.
    • Mentor and coach System Analysts and System Administrators to assist them in their growth and development within their role and in preparation for their next role.

    The Sr. System Analyst will be responsible for the following:

    Infrastructure & Technology

    • Maintain all infrastructure and platforms used to deliver services to our user community.
    • Maintain appropriate patch levels for all software, operating systems and firmware to ensure optimum performance and security compliance.
    • Monitor capabilities of existing, new and upcoming software and hardware solutions, identify those that would best serve the needs of user community and satisfy business and strategy objectives.
    • Lead the design and implementation of technical architecture that improves performance, user experience and satisfies objectives in terms of secure access from anywhere via any platform and improves business continuity.
    • Utilize best practices and known procedures, develop scope, execution plans, test scripts, and risk management mitigation plans for all systems/technology updates or implementations.
    • Implement and maintain high performing, easy to use remote access tools that provide the right level of security and functionality for users of our technology that is quick to deploy and requires minimal support.
    • Implement and maintain high performing self-service capabilities for our users from account unlock and password reset to client application deployment to security access requests.
    • Create, maintain and update group policies and various PowerShell type scripts to configure and manage users experience through their profile, the software they run or the devices they leverage to perform their job responsibilities.
    • Assist in the building and maintenance of procedures and packages for deployment of new client hardware and client based software.
    • Monitor network and data center systems and services to ensure all are running properly and are highly stable. Respond rapidly to any warnings, alerts or alarms that impact performance, security or availability.
    • Monitor and main processes and information to achieve recovery point and recovery time objectives for all systems and information.
    • Maintain 99.99 % uptime on all systems and applications excluding defined maintenance windows.

    Qualifications

    EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance or related field.
    • A minimum of 10 years’ related experience
    • Experience leading and developing high performing teams or functional areas.
    • Experience with and knowledge of:
      • Server and client architecture
      • Network technologies
      • Enterprise backup and recovery process
      • PaaS, IaaS, and SaaS based solutions
      • Compute/Mobile operating systems and management platforms
      • Incident Management systems and service reporting metrics.
    • Experience with and knowledge of the following is preferred:
      • PowerShell or similar.
      • Business Intelligence and reporting tools.
      • Construction Financial and Cost Accounting
