    JOB SUMMARY:

    The Internal Auditor is responsible for auditing Purchasing Card (Pcard) transactions, Payroll Expense Reimbursement reports, and other internal audit functions.  Conducts all work in accordance with Allan Myers policies, procedures, and programs.  We need an innovative, forward-thinking professional who doesn’t mind digging into data and searching for potential loopholes and vulnerabilities.  The successful candidate will possess a thorough knowledge of accounting procedures and a sound judgement.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

     

    1. Reviews and audits transactions in monthly Pcard reports and monthly payroll expense reimbursement reports to ensure all purchases and reimbursements are in accordance with Company policy.

     

    1. Enforce Company policies and procedures while also making recommendations on how to improve internal controls and governance processes.

     

    1. Reviews periodic financial reports regarding Pcard and expense reimbursement activity, investigates significant variances, and makes recommendations for correction.

     

    1. Protect Company against fraud and theft of organization’s assets.

     

    1. Conduct internal audits of other financial data, including payroll, accounts payable, and cash information, as requested.

     

    1. Prepares reports and preserves documentation pertaining to audits for internal record.

    2. Coordinate monthly review meetings with individuals and departments to update auditees on findings and the audit process.

     

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    Supervision – This role does not have any direct reports.

     

    Confidentiality - Expected to keep any and all sensitive materials confidential.

     

    Mental Application - Makes quick, rational decisions.  Strives for innovation and efficiencies.

     

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:

    Four year Bachelors of Science Degree in Accounting or Finance and 3-5 years’ experience in accounting and auditing.  Strong communication (both verbal and written), strong organizational skills and excellent technical knowledge required.

    • Knowledge of IDEA software a plus

     

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    Requires the ability to sit, use hands/fingers, talk and hear.

     

     

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    The work environment is an office setting.

     

     

    TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

    Limited travel is required for this position.
