  • Responsibilities


    This position is responsible for processing billings, payables and assisting in the preparation of financial reports for the Chesapeake area. Additional duties include processing specific job cost transactions and analyzing accounts.


    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Assembles, accounts for, and assists with analyzing data related to payroll, equipment, subcontracts, permanent materials, and overheads.
    • Assist in the generation and analysis of financial forecasts including construction project revenue, margin, cash flow, and Project Risk Management.
    • Contributes to the preparation of profit and loss statements, and accounting reports including Project Narratives.
    • ERP system (CMiC) proficiency in the areas of: Accounts payable, billing, adding phases, potential change items (PCIs), quantity updates, and equipment (daily rate / mobilization charges).
    • Working understanding of project narratives, the preparation and process for project projections and project risk management
    • Prepares and enters accounting journal entries and assists in the monthly closing process of the general ledger.
    • Interprets the meaning of accounting and financial documents.
    • Documents transactions and summarizes information.
    • Modifies, maintains, or creates procedural documentation.
    • Participates in reconciliations and in maintaining data accuracy.
    • May audit contracts, orders, vouchers, and prepare reports to corroborate transactions prior to settlement.
    • May assist construction managers, project managers, and estimators with information requests and perform special projects as assigned.
    • Maintains awareness of accounting best practices and of internal control procedures while assisting in the coordination and monitoring of compliance.
    • Assists team in other ad-hoc financial reporting and analysis as necessary.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Education & Qualifications:

    • A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
    • 3-5 years of accounting experience
    • Experience in a heavy/civil construction environment is a plus
    • Microsoft Office 
    • Must be self-motivated and have sound critical thinking skills
    • Capable of providing strong financial leadership to our project teams.


     Travel Requirements:


    • Some travel to job sites in the area will be required to assist project teams.
